O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches? Your boughs so green in summertime, stay bravely green in wintertime. O Tannenbaum, O Christmas Tree, how lovely are thy branches?
-German folk song
This is a song that has always resonated with my family. The simple beauty of the branches, the ode to their fortitude to stay bravely green. How can you describe the magnificence of a conifer? When most other plants give in to the bitter cold, the conifer stands strong. No other conifer stands so strong and magnificent, under the weight of the elements as Abies Magnifica, the Shasta red fir. This species is also known to Christmas tree connoisseurs as simply, “Silvertips”.
Our stunning trees thrive in the high elevations of the beautiful and unique Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains. The branches are strong from living in snow covered slopes. The whorls are spaced further apart than other Christmas trees. These spaces mean the trees are happy here; each whorl is another year of life! These spaces allow your beautiful ornaments to be seen. Ornaments that are meant to catch light really shine on Silvertips.
Our Silvertips are natural grown on our family tree farm in Southern Oregon. We are a certified American Tree Farm. We have a firm belief that a Christmas tree should look like a tree. We have a fun time cutting the trees. We’ve recently started getting the kids involved too! Since we are a family farm, we are passionate about long-term forest management and forest health.
